Mauro and Lazorka Lead Huskies to Win

LEWISBURG-- Lacy Mauro (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore) and Danielle Lazorka (Williamsport/Jersey Shore) each went 2-3 and drove in two runs to lead the Bloomsburg University softball team to a 6-0 win over Susquehanna University on Friday afternoon in a game played at Bucknell University.

Lazorka had a two-run single and Mauro a two-run double in a five-run fourth inning for the Huskies. The other run in the inning scored on an RBI ground ball from Mandy Leach (Milford/Delaware Valley). Bloomsburg added a solo run in the fifth when Nikki Shiko (Kulpmont/Southern Columbia) walked, stole second and scored on a double by Shavaun Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic).

Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) went the first three innings to get the victory. Bloomsburg, 6-1, will play at Goldey-Beacom at noon, a start one-hour earlier than originally scheduled.
